Join us August 11 to 25 to make lasting memories and lifelong friendships.

By immersing yourself in learning and new experiences, you'll undergo personal growth and unlock newfound independence.

What you will learn.

  • Community Resources

    Learn about benefits and where to find them. Practice navigating resources to discover what’s available to you.

  • Employment Prep

    Develop communication skills, build your resume, and understand your rights and accommodations in the workplace.

  • Meal Management

    Learn about healthy eating, budgeting and meal planning. Hands-on experiences will give you confidence in the grocery store and kitchen.

  • Directing Care

    Work on your self advocacy skills to take a lead role in our own care. Learn valuable skills to help make decisions, express preferences, and learn how to articulate your needs effectively.

  • Transportation

    Gain experience navigating the challenges and opportunities in accessing transportation. Hands-on experiences will help you understand and coordinate various ways of getting around.

  • Money Management

    Gain financial literacy by learning how to budget and manage debt for effective day-to-day money management.

How you will learn.

You’ll be taking part in all sorts of activities like grocery shopping, whipping up delicious meals and mastering transit—it’s about getting hands-on with real-life experiences. This way, you'll be prepared for whatever life throws your way while having a blast along the way!

Cost

$700 covers everything: accommodations, meals and course materials.

Eligibility

Manitobans with disabilities aged 16 to 21.

If you're unsure about meeting eligibility criteria but believe you could greatly benefit from the program, please reach out to us.

We provide bus transportation to the program, offering round-trip service from Winnipeg.

  • Participants are asked to coordinate their own support worker for the duration of their stay at the program.
    If this presents a barrier for you, please contact us so we can do our best to find a solution.

  • This program is available to individuals with physical disabilities living across the province. Drop off will be Sunday, August 5, the evening before the program starts.

  • The program is lead by our team at Manitoba Possible, including our program facilitators and employment counsellors. We will also be inviting outside instructors, like registered dieticians, to help with relevant components.
