Sledge Hockey
Manitoba Possible runs the largest sledge hockey program in the province.
Sledge hockey is a fast-paced adaptation of ice hockey where players use double-blade sledges along with two sticks for pushing and shooting. Whether it’s your first time on the ice or you’re looking for high-level competition, our goal is to create a welcoming community for all abilities.
Sledge hockey brings all abilities together
Clinics for the Community
We host sledge hockey clinics for a variety of community and corporate groups. Our coaches can make school skating sessions inclusive for the entire class, offer a unique team-building experience for business, or create new challenges for stand-up hockey teams.
We provide on-ice coaching where you can learn skills like skating, turning, and puck handling. Sleds and sticks are provided; participants need helmets, gloves, and other optional hockey gear.

The Program: We are partnering with True North Sports and Entertainment, NHL First Shift and Jumpstart to offer a Para First Shift program in Manitoba. The NHL’s First Shift is a program designed to ease kids and their families into hockey in a friendly and affordable environment, removing intimidation about equipment, rules and safety concerns.
The Equipment: Sleds will be loaned out by Manitoba Possible and are to be returned at the end of the season. Each player will be outfitted by a Bauer representative and given all the necessary equipment to play. Should you wish to not complete the program, all equipment must be returned.
Eligibility: Ages 5-15 years old and new to sledge hockey (played less than two seasons)
